Living a life of fitness may seem like a large sacrifice but the benefits are large. Not only will you live longer, you can also live it while looking younger and more attractive.

1. Eating the right kinds of foods and staying in good shape results in more energy that spills over into work and play time. You will be more active and will have increased energy for work. Active people also seem more capable and independent. Fit people are also considered to be more charming, approachable and confident.

2. Less illness- People who live a healthy lifestyle are well, healthy. They are not as subject to sickness that can slow down someone's achievement levels. As a result, fit individuals complete most of what they set out to do. They are not dragged down by problems with their health or time consuming doctors appointments. Healthy people rarely have to use their sick time and when they do, they will often use it for other means, like vacation or relaxation days. They aren't obligated to take sick time just because they are not well.

3. Look younger- Individuals who live healthy lives are younger looking than those who smoke and drink. Cigarettes and alcohol make people look older by drying up the skin and causing wrinkles. Chemicals in alcohol and cigarettes reduce the amount of nutrients that are absorbed into the body, depriving it of vitamins and minerals that keep the skin and organs functioning at peak efficiency.

Being younger looking gives you a whole other set of benefits, from career options, to a better social and love life. Appearance counts, whether or not we want to admit it.  Being more attractive and younger looking can take you places. Shallow as it is,  more attractive people have more choices in romantic relationships and more friends. Our society loves attractive people.

4. Clear thinking- It is a common misconception that chemicals in alcohol, drugs and cigarettes  increase creativity levels. These effects are bad for overall body functioning and actually very short-lived.Individuals who make the time to  live healthfully and eat well are more able to think clearly. Healthy individuals are able to accomplish more than less healthy people because of their increased mental clarity. They are also more reliable and have clearer memories.

5. Emotionally secure- Active people who live a lives of fitness and health are happier. Healthy individuals are able to enjoy their lives more because they are not as plagued with health problems.They worry less and are more equipped to cope with stressors. This may be because they don't have to count on chemicals to cope with problems in their lives. Living a healthy lifestyle makes it easier to get through the pressures of daily life.
